# Wallet Setup

**Creating a Monad Wallet:**

1. **Download a Supported Wallet:**
   * Choose from wallets like MetaMask, Phantom Wallet, or Backpack that support the Monad blockchain.
   * Follow the wallet’s setup instructions to create a new wallet.
2. **Save Your Private Key:**
   * During the setup process, you’ll be given a private key or recovery phrase. Save this securely; it’s the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access.
3. **Connect to Monad Network:**
   * Ensure your wallet is configured to connect to the Monad blockchain. You may need to add Monad as a custom network using the network settings in your wallet.

**Importing an Existing Wallet:**

1. **Open Your Wallet:**
   * If you already have a Monad wallet, you can import it by selecting the "Import Wallet" option in your wallet interface.
2. **Enter Your Private Key:**
   * Provide the private key or recovery phrase of your existing wallet to import it into the Monadswap platform.
